On November 2, 2017, the federal communications commission (FCC) official said in a news release, to simplify the authentication process of wireless devices and clear use of electronic tag, DoC & VoC plan officially changed to SDoC.
SDoC, namely: Supplier 's Declaration of Conformity, equipment suppliers (note: the Supplier must be local companies in the United States) to meet the requirements of the standard or testing equipment, conform to the provisions of the equipment shall provide the relevant documents (such as SDoC Declaration documents) available to the public. The SDoC policy simplifies the previously complicated FCC certification requirements and further reduces the burden on the enterprise.
SDoC policy measures are as follows:
Simplify the process of self-approval. The FCC decided to replace the existing FCC VoC and FCC DoC with SDoC.
2. Electronic labels are allowed. The FCC rules the use of electronic tags, and information required to be displayed on the product or in other ways, such as the FCC identification number and the conformance statement.
3. Reduce the cumbersome import statements and requirements. The order no longer requires us import statements to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to submit RF equipment, and amendments to the committee rules to clarify compliance requirements relating to imported equipment.
4. Revision of measurement procedures and clarification criteria. The order modified the commission's measurement procedures to simplify and integrate the use of equipment in different services to make it more flexible.
The policy has been in effect since November 2, 2017, but there is still a one-year transition period
During the transition period, the FCC VoC and DoC certification procedures can be selected.
The FCC VoC and DoC certification procedures before the transition period are always valid. If the products are modified, they need to be re-certified.
The product of the FCC SDoC certification program will be able to select the logo or not mark the FCC logo.
The SDoC requires that the declaration document be added to the device attached to the document. The declaration should include the name, address or contact url of the local supplier in the United States.
